SIGVARIS HISTORY

1864

Mr. Moritz Ganzoni and Mr. Barthels start a ribbons manufacturing company in Winterthur, in the North East of Switzerland.


1920

The company becomes "Ganzoni & Cie". The original building at Grützestrasse 44 in Winterthur still exists, and today holds the Swiss Photography Museum.


1924

Werner and Paul Ganzoni found GANZONI ST LOUIS in France, near the Swiss border.


1958-1960

Medical compression stockings development with Dr. Karl Sigg.


1961

Creation of a delivery center in Memmingen, Germany.


1964

Ganzoni celebrates its 100th anniversary.


1971

Foundation of SIGVARIS GmbH in Vienna, Austria.


1974

First exports to Asia and Australia


1981

Foundation of SIGVARIS Do Brasil Ltda in Sao Paulo, Brazil.


1988

Foundation of SIGVARIS Inc. in the USA and SIGVARIS Corp. in Canada.


1994

First certification ISO 9001.


1997

Opening of a production facility in Peachtree City, near Atlanta GA,USA.

Creation of GANZONI France, from the merge between Ganzoni St-Louis and TEF (Textiles Elastiques du Forez).


1998

New company logo.

Renewal of the certification ISO 9001 and first certification EN 4600.


2000

 New unique brand politic: SIGVARIS becomes the main brand.


2002

Foundation of Ganzoni Management AG, SIGVARIS Group Headquarter, in Winterthur, St. Georgenstrasse 70, Switzerland.


2003

Extension of Ganzoni France production site in St-Just-St-Rambert: new dyeing section and new office buildings.


2004

Inauguration of the brand new manufacturing plant in Jundiaì, Brazil. 


2007

The new SIGVARIS corporate design is implemented. "Life for Legs" becomes the new motto.

 

2009

SIGVARIS broadens its horizon and launches a new line of compression socks for sports (Performance and Recovery socks). www.sigvaris-sports.com.


2010

Mr. Urs H. Toedtli is the new CEO of the SIGVARIS Group.

2011

To reinforce the SIGVARIS brand, GANZONI companies in Switzerland and France change their names to SIGVARIS.
