SIGVARIS Group Acquires Polish Market Leader Pani Teresa Medica

Winterthur, December 7, 2015 - The SIGVARIS Group, world-leading manufacturer of medical compression textiles, has taken over Pani Teresa Medica, the market-leading Polish provider of medical textiles, on December 7. With this measure, the SIGVARIS group, which has generated revenue of around CHF 250 million in the past year, continues its international growth strategy.

With the acquisition of Pani Teresa Medica, the SIGVARIS Group further strengthens its position in a rapidly growing market. Pani Teresa Medica is renowned for its high medical standards and enjoys the trust of many Eastern European customers. In the course of the portfolio expansion, the SIGVARIS Group keeps placing emphasis on traditional local products which are firmly anchored in their markets. “By taking over Pani Teresa Medica, we were able to acquire an established manufacturer of medical textiles with a strong position in its home market that has been operating successfully for years – with a corporate structure that is comparable to ours and a similar understanding of quality.”, says Urs H. Toedtli, CEO of the SIGVARIS Group.

The company, market leader in Poland, employs 120 people and ranks among the leading providers of medical textiles in Eastern Europe. In 2014, the company generated revenue of about PLN 20 million (approx. EUR 5 million).
