We are pleased that Prof Dr Eberhard Rabe has won the 1st prize award for the presentation of the SIGVARIS consensus manuscript at the 30th Annual meeting of the  American College of Phlebology (ACP) in Anaheim, California.

The SIGVARIS consensus manuscript is the outcome of an advisory board organized by SIGVARIS in September 2015 with an international group of EU experts in compression therapy. The group of experts consisted of Prof Rabe (GER),  Prof Partsch (A),  Prof Hafner (CH), Prof Urbanek (POL), Dr Mosti (ITA), Prof Neumann (NED), Prof Carpentier (FRA), Prof Lattimer (UK).

The aim of the advisory board was to provide an update of the recommendations in the 2008 ICC consensus statement, to fill gaps identified in the 2008 consensus statement and finally to provide graded recommendations for the clinical goals of treatment using medical compression stockings.

The SIGVARIS consensus manuscript is currently under review for publication in Phlebology and further presentations of the outcome are planned at the international symposium of venous interventions in Cracow, Poland on December 10th and at the Venalpina Congress in Pontresina, Switzerland end of January, 2017.
